I used to be a system administrator, but then I got a PhD in Computer Science so I became overqualified :-) I have people working for me doing it now and I have great sympathy for them. It is not too bad to be a systems administrator if you have a boss who doesn't know too much... But try it with a boss who has been there and still plays around with a lot of things :-)

One thing struck me about the latest ADPT announcement regarding their Ethernet interfaces. They are almost all the way to IIO and I would not be at all surprised to see them come out with an IIO compliant interface when that catches on.

Given that it is a card designed for a server, it would be really nice if Adaptec would help someone write a Linux driver for it. There are a lot of Linux machines out there and they tend to run server type applications.....

Cheers, Torben
