Phil, <I've bought 5 of May $27.5 calls today just for fun.> I agree, now is a good time to increase your position in AAPL. Today's low trading volume of 2,117,600 shares (37.5% below 30 day average) accounted for -13/16 and lack of momentum for a comeback. Tomorrow is another day and the TA is still looking strong and long....Good Luck, Dennis 'Second Opinion' 4/29/98 COMMENT Moving Average Convergence/Divergence (MACD) indicates a BULLISH TREND Chart pattern indicates a STRONG UPWARD TREND Relative Strength is BULLISH Up/Down volume pattern indicates that the stock is under ACCUMULATION The 50 day MOVING AVERAGE is rising which is BULLISH The 200 day MOVING AVERAGE is rising which is BULLISH LOOK FOR SUPPORT AT 24.75 WATCH FOR RESISTANCE AT 29.11 RECOMMENDATION STOCK IS A BUY

> I only put <0.5% of investments in options.

I am doing the opposite and shifting my AAPL stock positions into LEAPS. Take a look at Jan 2000 options. Estimate what you think the range in stock price may be at that point. Calculate your returns. Ponder the result.

What you will likely find (if you are bullish) is that the premium for time is very low. It is hardly more than the imputed interest.

The exact ROI numbers depend on what strike you use, and your assumptions but this is a great entry to options for those with a 20 month horizon and reasonable AAPL bullishness.

Phillip,

Seems the natives are beating them drums like Emperor Jones!

BTW, I wager a virtual 25› that HWP will figure prominently into this. Besides the announced printer deals, they've been striking a s--tload of deals with other companies and have been making noises about wanting to become *the* preeminent computer maker. (There was an article to this effect over the weekend which I couldn't find.)
