Was there something new to your post?
I stopped reading after the first paragraph. I hope that you didn't try to imply that Bob is lying again. Too many people on this thread know that Bob's honesty is beyond reproach.
If you still have any Utek shares I'll take them off your hands.
I hate to see someone in such distress.

Tony

Marketimer clearly states "copyright Marketimer" in every issue.
You have violated the Marketimer copyright with a verbatim
reprint of the material taken from the issue you cited. SI
has been notified of this copyright violation and you have
disgraced yourself on this thread with this willful act.
Your credibility is zero on this thread as noone respects
a copyright violator who shows no respect for someone else's
work. It is against the law to republish Marketimer material
verbatim in any forum.

rillinois, bob's original plan for utek clearly didn't work out. he used the term "aggressive" for the investors b/c he knew it might not work out when he recommended it. that is also why he put a limit on the portfolio percentage. he isn't infallible. investing is about probabilities and not soothsaying or premonitions. If you lost money making a bet solely based on bob's advice - and didn't look at what the total picture that he expounds on - then you learned a valuable lesson - how not to invest.

we are adults and we understand nobody is perfect. i for one, think that utek won't work out in 1999 and probably not 2000 either - though nobody can look that far out. the chip industry is in for a meltdown, imho. utek may melt a little with it. after every chippy went up 10 fold i think we are going to see a regression in eps closer to former eps. too much supply. every dram co in the world is losing lots of cash. i expect this to continue for a while. the equipment mftrs suffer with the producers.

worry about your investments and not bob's ego. if he is changing his time frame and doesn't want to admit it, so be it. my time frames change all the time b/c i get new information - some good and some bad.

focus on your investments. it will be much more profitable. nobody can guarantee you profits in the market. nobody. YOU, and YOU alone, plays your chips and takes your chances.

Rillinois: By your own citation, from the newsletter, the timeline for this investment was up to 18 months. By my calendar, that would mean the window of opportunity could last until January 1999 for the price to hit 36. Seems to me that we still have 8 months to wait until we can assess Bob's call. As you should well know, 8 months is a loooooong time in the high-tech industry--a lot can happen! Aren't you a little premature in your criticism?

Actually, Rillinois, much to my dismay I've seen almost every underperforming dud stock I've ever owned before the Gulf War go way up in value. Too bad I dumped them. In this current market evironment, almost any stock recommended five or ten years ago is looking good right now--just give them time. I've been a bear myself since Dow 5000, nevertheless, I have made money in the penny stocks. To Brinker's credit, sometimes his stock recs just sit in the doldrums for the longest time and then explode. The key is to be in them when the TNT blows. Speaking of TNT, how dare they cancel Babylon 5 the last couple of nights in favor of All-Star Wrestling! --AG

rill,

>>They were just expecting to get what Brinker told them to expect if they took
the risk.<<

please read what you wrote again. IF you were guaranteed to make money with UTEK then BY DEFINITION there is no risk. if there is no risk then you didn't take a risk.

the bottom line is this. IT DIDN'T WORK OUT. at least not yet. to think bb is some kind of psychic friends network star (knows the future) just isn't realistic. since you snd so many others have made him larger than life perhaps he tries to live up to it.

perhaps you have helped to create what you now feel is a frankenstein - a bb who doesn't admit defeat (assuming he is out of his original time and it sounds like he isn't).

personally, i think utek will eventually meltdown b/c the semis are getting killed where it counts - dram. too much capacity. utek's products further increase this problem by further increasing capacity. be that as it may, if you want guarantees then you are in the wrong business.

i know :-(

good luck...
