From someone who has never invested in a foreign company.

How does one invest in SAP A.G. Where do I purchase
ADRs for this company?

I'm still curious about this. If anyone has any insight to what SAP's plans are here, I'd like to know. ILOG is mainly a class library for planning engines, but it is far from a complete solution. Furthermore, it is doubtful that SAP even has access to enough fundamental data through their ERP systems to provide even a front end to ILOG with meaningful input.

I know SAP would like it's customers to believe that they will have a one stop shop for ERP and Supply Chain planning, but before I invest in them, I need to believe it, and right now too many things don't add up. It appears to me that their plans are to freeze the market to give them time to come up with a solution that can compete with products that are being shipped today.

Hi Rashley
why do you suppose that a relationship between two companies
beginns with the aquisition of 5% of the shares? I'd suppose the
aquisition is made after it is clear that the cooperation is going very well.
By the way,SAP has never claimed that they know all. As I understand it SAP has always relied on strong partnerships to provide
customers with the best possible product and service. This is one
of the main factors of SAP's success. Take a look at todays homepage. SAP makes no secret of it's partnerships.
