"...until his actions prove otherwise..." This is precisely why we need Sid. He has to keep drilling. The courts ultimately have to side with the investors, since they were informed of the whole wide Colombian concession. Problem here, is that it takes forever given how civil cases move through the U.S. courts. And I don't have a clue how civil cases move through the Colombian court system.

But good luck to Sid? Of course, good luck to Sid. If he strikes it big-time, we should all make out okay. If he stops drilling, we're screwed; if the trustee liquidates everything and packs up and moves onto to another assignment, we're all screwed.

Personal characterizations aside, you've still got to root for the man. Seems contradictory, and maybe it is, but it's our best hope.
Wouldn't you love to hear his side of the story, however? I know I would.
