In regards to data, you have to remember that ViaSat's DAMA product is circuit switched(like telephone service) rather than packet switched(like the internet). It is ideally suited to providing telephony service. There are TDMA-DAMA hybrids or TDMA systems that provide a better packet switched data transmission ability. Unless ViaSat changes the product, data will not be its forte. It absolutely excels in routing telephone service over transponders. PCMA is another technology they have that can be applied to any mostly-symmetrical sat transmissions to improve capacity. That could potentially be licensed for a number of applications.
