Hey weren't you the one I argued with about FAST? executions at Waterhouse????? Glad to see you coming around.<g> I, too have switched to MB.... world of difference, you'll see.

Your experience today shows just how far Datek has fallen. It used to be I could see my order go from the "place order" button to ISLD's book in about 2 seconds. And that was only due to internet packets throughput. Executions when there was a corresponding buyer or seller at the appropriate price on their book was often executed in one second. Now you're lucky to see your order get there in minutes on some occasions. The last straw for me was when I watched my order take 45 minutes to show up there, on a normal day on a normal moving stock. While I was on the phone with Datek asking why, it suddenly appeared after I was put on hold while someone checked. Then they had the nerve to say that their screen showed that I had been represented there all the time. Yet they would not show me any proof, and refused to do so, even refusing to give me the name of their compliance officer. While I informed them they would have to prove it to a complaint investigation, their attitude was blase. And this from a supervisor.

Here's to us all who leave......

I can sympathize. I tried a market order to short ktel 2 mins. before the close last Fri. First time it wouldn't take because it was on a down tick. Okay, fine, second time I got the confirm screen with a tracking number. I thought it would just be a matter of time before I get the order confirmed screen. Few minutes after 4 and nothing. I check the open orders and nothing. I check my daily activity and find the order didn't go through so I send an email asking for an explanation. Next Mon. Ktel opens 8 points down and no response from Datek. I call them and the best the could do is offer 4 free trades.
Their explanation is Ktel down ticked after I placed the order even though I got a tracking number. Their reply was that I must have made an error when I placed the trade. In other words its your problem not ours.
Has this happened to any one else?
