I agree with you. CPQ will probably trade below 32 for a quarter or two. CPQ has many issues to resolve to continue growing. What I don't think a lot of people realise is, that CPQ will be a different company once they absorb DEC.

The nice thing about buying into DELL right now, is that DELL offers a very simple, straight forward story - you wanna wintel box, they will make it and ship it to you as quickly as they can. Simple, easy to understand for fund managers who are not technically inclined. CPQ on the other hand has a very complex story to tell. How can someone assign a valuation to DEC Unix or the software that DEC has been writing to enhance NT, when there are so many variables involved.

No wonder many are sitting on the sideline waiting to see what will happen before buying in.
