David, I think there is a huge unknown, and that is whether Betty Currie was very brave and told the truth, or shaded her testimony to protect the president. If she was honest, then it would be impossible for the White House to make Monica seem like the predator. I am not sure whether everyone recalls, but Betty was portrayed as the person who Monica was really visiting, the person who badgered the president into bringing her gifts from Martha's Vineyard, etc., and who took it totally upon herself to ask Vernon Jordan to find Monica a job. Even Jordan testified he believed the initiative on that one was Clinton's. All of that advocacy on Betty's part is pretty hard to believe. I guess we will have to wait and see!! Clinton's spinmeisters act quickly, so perhaps they will begin to play their hands and amaze us.
