I'm not so sure it is all that tightly controlled. All the ADR's available in the US constitute a majority ownership I believe. If someone was to offer $25 a share, I bet they would get control. Wouldn't be that great for the shareholders but at this point they could do it, even if Sim isn't interested in selling out. I know they would get my shares for $25 right now.

As far as buyers go, seems like it would be a good deal for one of the Japanese consumer electronics giants. And the buyer doesn't have to change anything. They could just let Sim continue to run things his way.

The mystery to me is why no one seems to want to try and take advantage of the cheap price.
