One thing is for sure, the WSJ is probably the most influential daily financial publication out there and CNBC is THE financial news source on TV. The two of them teaming up enables them to muster the influence to move markets (as we witnessed with the interest rate 'event' earlier this week)...at least temporarily.

When you identify a 'herd moving' alliance like this, you can use it to your advantage. Just remember, by the time a story is in the paper, it is old news to the big money in the markets. When the selling subsides, buy and when the buying subsides, sell short.

Identify the 'angle of the week' (they'll lay the groundwork before they make it the big story) before it breaks and you can profit handsomely.
