At the Enterprise level it can be used as core switches for campus network for a large Corporation. Feeding to this can be from fast ethernet, GBit ethernet and local ATM networks. At the SP level, can be used to support a larger number of ATM edge switchs and Access concentration swotches as it now has 4 times the trunking bandwith of an OC12 pipe.
