Maverick. If your data is from ViWes site, then these figure only reflect until 4/10. I believe the short interest now is significantly higher, may be over 1m already. Danny

the short interest increase reported does not even represent one day of trading, so does not appear to be significant or explain the current decline. Company 04/24/98 03/24/98 % Chg avg daily vol CHECK POINT SFTWR 557,843 471,317 18.4 626,592 short interest does not reflect what has occurred the last reporting date, which suggests more shorting as the stock has dropped these last 2 weeks. if the stock stays depressed, next month should show a much larger increase in shorting of this stock.
