Greetings Chloe.R, and all who love the Lord Jesus Christ, << However, I could never get all the pieces to fit...>> Praise be to the Lord of Glory for that fact because you never will, if you allow yourself to listen to " popular " north american teachings on this last book of the Bible. The key to this book is twofold; first one must have diligently studied the previous 65 books as you will hear " echos " of what the Apostle John is seeing. is mentioned by previous writers in the Old Testament. Secondly, Rev.1:1, " and He sent and signified it by His angel....". This word " signify " means to express an idea or picture of something using signs and symbols. Please note the signs and symbols are not the message , but point to things far greater that the Holy Spirit would have us understand. To interpret this book literally violates the Word of God and causes much confusion which is quite evident. I speak from experience , as there was a time when I allowed myself to be deceived by listening to the " popular " teachings of man and tried to make this book line up with the rest of scriptures. These popular teachers are sincere in what they are teaching, but they are sincerly wrong in their interpretations according to Gods Holy Word. Please consider what this word " signify " means with an open heart and mind and allow the Holy Spirit to set you free from the futility of mans erroneous teachings. Test all things I have stated, and may the Holy Spirit grant you and all who hunger for truth to see hidden manna in His holy Word. Grace and peace be unto you and the true Israel of God, the Church.
