Rocky, I'm not that familiar with digital camera, but on the surface, I don't see why Sony could not follow through as you suggested. With digital technology, there's very little that can't be accomplished.

What about a product like the Canon Optura? This is a highbred digital video but you can still do still shots like a SLR camera. I got one a couple weeks ago and 2 people I have showed it to have got one. This is a great technology. Sony is not a big player in cameras at this time, since they compete with Cannon I do not believe Canon would ever use a HiFi for their products. I think that this digital video just might be the way to go but is a bit expensive at this time.Why take pictures when you can take video? instead of trying to guess the perfect moment why not just do a frame capture? at 30 frames per second I think I might get the right one every time. I do think Sony is a major threat to IOM if they get it together. But they have a history of hit and miss (mini disc , playstation) and if HiFi is a hit then IOM is meat.
