Strange Trades. At about 11:00 AM today, there was a 150,000 share trade. At 10:58AM there was a 2200 contract (220,000 share) purchase of Jan '00 $30 calls. Any ideas? soup

Noone doubts, Richard, that Intel will continue to develop new processors with greater power. That's not the point. The question is will Intel catch up on the power curve, or will PPC continue to expand that gap. If G3 in portables are at 293 MHz now with good power management, that won't be what Mobile Deschutes and Katmai will be competing against 6-12 months from now, respectively. And at common MHz, G3 appears to already be significantly ahead on price/performance than Pentia. In the same vein, G4 will be the competitor to Merced, not G3, and it is not out of the question that Merced won't also be a Mac platform when it releases. So, we understand, Intel is not standing still. Do you understand that they are starting to lose the performance race?
