We have all ignored the question of what happens in the minutes, days, and months AFTER the deal is announced. I, for one, would appreciate knowledgeable comments on what type of deal is likely and, depending on their possible key provisions, what effect the various possibilities might have on RNTK's short and long term prospects. Can we get some educated guesses in this area. From you industry experts, what kind of a deal would you be trying to negotiate for RNTK (or, if you were representing Texaco, for Texaco?).

For example, is it likely that the deal would simply be a Texaco purchase of a license to use the technology? If so, is it likely that there would be an up front payment, or merely future royalty payments which might not be realized until well into the future, or both? Is it likely that Texaco would seek to acquire a minority interest in RNTK? Might the deal grant Texaco any rights to market the technology elsewhere in the industry? If so, wouldn't that approach tend to limit RNTK's own potential to license with Texaco competitors?

Would love to read some experienced oil folks' comments on these issues.
