Lee,

I'm cautiously optimistic. In terms of stock price I am unclear of how the market will react. I don't see it as a big upside move, but I don't see any reason for it to slide back down to 8. The numbers are good, but not overly impressive in relation to the current stock price. Please notice my statement of "in relation to the current stock price." I think bobf is doing a great job. He has laid out the areas he is not satisfied with (not enough new customers, channel still not up and running, Europe, etc) and those that are good (expense control, Asia, etc). Did you get to listen to the conf call?

I was a bit surprised at the low % of license revenue growth but glad he controlled expenses to compensate. I don't belive he will ever get the hockey stick effect under control since I haven't seen a sales organization that has successfully done it. It is inbred into the sales/buying cycle it seems, even if you put in commission incentives.

I am still concerned about the MSFT factor. I think the key will be for Informix to continue to try to successfully differentiate itself on the high end. If it can do that, the sky's the limit. If the prospects don't buy into it, then it will be tough.

Cheers.
