You had better believe that *all* statements made by company officials are cleared by their lawyers first. And given recent events, I am quite certain that the lawyers have made absolutely sure that everyone making official statements on behalf of Adaptec understands the term ''conservative" like never before.....

Adaptec *must* err on the side of caution for now.

Starowl, analyzing everything; I think we are in good shape. If we take a hit; it will only last 3 or 4 days max. barring some catastrophe in the tech market as a whole. Within a few week; my bet is we will be above where we closed before earnings were released. I think we are at a bottom with bad news priced in and the market loves nothing more than having all the bad news on the table in clear view. Buying often is done under these circumstances; not much selling. As noted; none of this was a surprise and that is what causes the over the cliff type market reactions. We already had that.
