Brian - Is AMD saying that the K6-2 will be introduced May 28 but not sold "until the second half"?

"The K6-2 is based on the 100-MHz system bus.
At launch time, chipset companies, including
Acer Laboratories and others, will have
adequate supplies to support the K6-2 in the
second half of the year, according to Sanders.
"Basically, it's is our intention to sell the K6-2 in
the second half as our major volume item," he
said."

The wording of that statement is very "peculiar".

This could impact costs since the die size is now 27% larger.

<I also liked the comment about a K6-2 300mhz being equivalent in speed to a PII-400mhz . Brian>

So did I, kind of like "profits are just around the corner". Let me tell you what Jerry meant. He meant a hand picked 3D benchmark running under Win95. Don't you know Jerryspeak yet, after all this time? Aside from that lonely benchmark, it will perform like an Intel 4th or 5th string offering. He also said 2nd half of the year. Intel will likely be shipping Katmai by the "2nd half of the year". That will have more 3D extensions then K6-3D. By then Jerry will be saying "profits are just around the corner" and you will get excited all over again.

Brian, What? Did you say K6-2? Wow! Clever! Me, I'm like Fuchi, I just love innovations and it saves on the ad budget too .But I wonder why Jerry did not go whole hog and call it the K6 ll. Frankly I think a real winner would be the K6-ME2. Think about it.
