The whisper price was for .04, so the price already had all the good news factored in. Basically, some on this thread have been getting too far ahead of themselves in their optimism, and actually need to do some realistic calculations. Look at some of my previous posts.

Apparently the lack of confidence I saw by the speculator in the selloff just before the earnings announcement was a hint of what was to come. They were willing to take a quick smaller profit instead of waiting one day for the better news they were expecting where they can anticipate a larger profit. This had nothing to do with a carefully calculated risk assessment on the speculators part, forthat would be giving them intelligence that they do not utilize in option trades. For the most part their market plays are sentiment driven. Without positive sentiment by the public speculator, and a lack of long term money coming into the picture, the stock will remain at or below 10. But the inpact of this earnings announcement on the price of the stock due to longer term money is not yet over for this earnings announcement. I saw the analyst upgrade to BUY posted here. Even though I think Informix continues to look promising, I think this upgrade by an analyst was a bit premature.

I am attempting to cover at 5/16 my MAY 10 CALLs for a quick profit. I am learning a lesson here, now that my one man brokerage Scottsdale here in Tucson is swamped with business. I will never do business with a discount broker unless they can anwser the phone in a couple rings and be willing to extend themselves a bit as an order taker. They gave me a quote on this option as 1/4 by 3/8. THrough another source I then discovered the optionis selling on the AMEX for 5/16,which is the split of the quote they gave me. I called back to change the order first explaining to him what I just discovered which to me is an important bit of news. He was a little harried so he was gruff with me over the phone, so I went ahead and gave him specific instructions to change the order. In the past when I was at their office I have seen him sit on the order for several minutes while he dealt with another customer. They apparently do not use the automated RAES system which would execute my order in 10 to 15 seconds. Meanwhile, while they are routing the order through the back alleys of stock market land, the volitility of this stock may bring the stock back up to 10 which would mean my order would miss in being executed at what I consider this discount premium value. Ultimately you get what you pay for with discount brokers. I will be looking for a more responsive broker that can serve me better on these option trades and I am willing to be more to get this type of service. The option market is a relatively illiquid market. I need all the advantage I get get for myself in this type of market. I do not need my broker to be working against me by not providing me with important quote information (AMEX) and not handling my order in a very efficient manner.

This is an ideal value stock: the fundamentals of the company have improved dramatically, yet most of the investors have not paid attention. With a turnaround number like what we saw on Thursday, you can bet that pretty soon IFMX will show up on ppl's radar screen. I am not worried by Friday's price moment because I know the move upward will come soon; it already has return around 100% since its low. One thing to watch out for is the next quarter's earning. Once IFMX proves itself that it can continuously be profitable, the upward momentum will pick up. Go Informix.
