Your right, however, I think you missed the crux of my stance and the point of discussion. There won't always be equity investors there (unless they are handsomely compensated) if a company cannot support a share price through INCREASING shareholder value. I give institutional investors some credit for having a learning curve.

I know you may be an investor of others $$, but you are somewhat incorrect about Investment Bankers not caring where the price of the stock goes that they sell.

If investors listening to them continually lose money, where do the IB's go? ...

Oyut of business, nobody will buy anything from 'em again.
