Here is an interesting index that fred sent me...have you followed it at all

havent seen any air play about this one on CNBC..

seems a better index to follow than the Dow 30

Effective March 12, 1998, DBC will be broadcasting a new Index,
called the US60. It currently includes 54 NYSE stocks and 6
Nasdaq stocks. The Index was created as an alternative to the
current market indicator Dow Jones Industrial Average. The index
components are the 60 stocks with the highest market
capitalization trading on the New York Stock Exchange, the
Nasdaq Stock Market and the American Stock Exchange. The
US60 index represents approximately forty percent of the total
market capitalization of these markets. These companies
represent a cross section of the U.S. industry from
manufacturing to technology. For a list of the listed companies,
