Actually PPC processors in the 7500 (as well as 8500,9500, 8600, 9600) are on daughtercards, not ZIF cards.

No quite, the processor doesn't go into the ZIF socket itself. The PPC 750s along with the L2 cache are put on a single ZIF card. The card then fits into the ZIF socket and can be removed by lifting a lever.
