Jane: Thank you for so kindly telling me that I might be wrong. This is so different from when I talk face to face with people where I live. I get the response, I have my own religion, or my relationship with God is personal and I do not want to discuss it. Or people will simply say, I am a "Christian" and walk away. How can a person call themselves a Christian and not want to talk about our Lord? May God continue to bless you with such tact and love. My second post was an extrapolation, as you noticed, I did not support it with texts that apply to specific scriptures. I was merely throwing out a concept without supporting it by the bible. Thank you again for steering me to God's inspired word, our only source of true light, the bible. I have a question, when do we understand bible prophecy? Daniel 12:8 states of Daniel "And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?" So here, after recording all of these divinely inspired visions, Daniel declared that he did not understand the meaning! Actually, isn't it true that, Bible prophecies cannot be understood by anyone until God's due time. Daniel 12:9,10 continues "And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand." No matter how hard God's servants have tried to understand these prophecies in times past, they simply could not understand the meaning, as God had sealed them up until the time of the end. It is only when God reveals them to his servants that they can understand. Consider the very last question Christ's Apostles asked him, Acts 1:6 "When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?" Even at this late date, they were still expecting God to release Israel from slavery immediately. Did Jesus respond that they were on the right track?... Acts 1:7 "And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power." It seems to me that Jesus was telling them, they were not on the right track. Their timing was completely off, Gods kingdom would not be established until the final part of the days, as Daniel 2:44 stated, and they were not living in the final part of the days, (Although they were living in the final part of the days for the nation of Israel as being God's chosen people - I just thought I would throw that in). Thank you Emile for some supporting scriptures: exchange2000.com Puddinhead: Sorry if I am getting off the topic of Daniel and the prophecies of Revelation. Please help me to keep focused on the topic of the 70 week's of Daniel. One last thought for tonight. Will we understand all of the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation before they are fulfilled, or will we have to wait until after they are fulfilled to have a complete understanding. It is interesting that of the prophecies pertaining to Jesus, many were not understood until after he fulfilled them, only then were the apostles able to call attention to certain events and show how they fulfilled this prophecy or that. Matthew 2:22, 23; 3:3; 8:17; 21:4, 5; 27:9, 10. May God continue to bless you all. Brian
