I may be way out in left field here, but could management be thinking about taking MRVC private? They already own a good chunk of the stock, the company is making money, the price is cheap, interest rates are low, & I wouldn't expect it would be too hard to find a several "friends" that could put together a billion or two. I don't mean to start a rumor here, but what else do you talk to an investment banker about, if your not going to do a secondary.

Just MHG (my humble guess)

Phil

Richard:
I fully agree with your points 1,2, and 4 regarding enhancement of shareholder value. I really think they should move their earnings report date up. As someone noted before, MRV always ends up reporting when the focus on earnings has waned and attention is starting to turn to other market conditions.

Part of the reason that earnings are late is because of the
ex fibronics divsion in israel. most of the israeli companies
report 5-6 weeks after the qtr ends, there is very little that they can do about that.(in fact they are reporting earlier than the
"pure" israeli based companies).

Just a thought about Noam's comment in the CC about investment bankers. As I remember it he said that they'd seen some "investment bankers." I take it to mean that they were probably out kicking tires (for a new relationship) and shaking trees (to see what anyone might think about any possible new acquisitions). I wouldn't expect to see a new acquisition until at least late in the year but if Noam has found some nugget he'd be willing to scoop it any time. IMO.

In regards to mRV's websites, for some reaspon, sources tell me that managers view them as a waste of $$. You be the ones to decide.
