>>I'd be less concerned if they toss scopus product and just build off of sebl architecture, probably would create a better support picture longer term.

I believe that this is exactly what SEBL will do.>>

Can you let us in on what type of source you have for this. At a recent conference, Tom said they had not yet announced a strategy but implied that they would go with SCOP's call center product as it was the one that has beaten them out in competitive situations. He is not one for details so maybe the R&D group is doing things he isn't up to date on but this was what he implied last Tuesday.

Kevin, are you around? Since you are in the trenches of customer support R&D, any commentary on the technical trade-offs of this decision? You have told us about all the detailed functionality needed to win support deals, how long do you think it would take to build a product with SCOP's functionality using Siebel's architecture and Scopus engineers?

I believe ORCL and SAP will focus more on the data warehousing, customer segmentation part of the equation than the customer-facing applications. They can leverage their information links without the risk of entering an area they don't know nearly as much about.

All this talk about SEBL, SCOP, CLFY , VNTV doesn't take into account any new entrants. This is an area that will see some upstarts IMHO, and we should look for the possibility that someone else will do to CIS what SEBL did to SFA -- come from nowhere.
