I gleaned from that information and from posts on the Cymer thread from a photomask engineer calling himself "Glassman" that photomask life was a function of (among other things) the amount of radiation energy the mask was exposed to. Cymer's Orion DUV laser, slated for delivery in Q4, is rated at double the pulse frequency of its predecessor model 5010. I reasoned that, given the extra power delivered per unit time, it would reduce mask-life. Less mask-life equates to more revenues for companies like DPMI, which when combined with mask revenues from older (and more ubiquitous) i-line tools, prompted my asking colleague CYMI posters why DPMI wouldn't make a better investment than CYMI. As I got no rebuttals I figure that my argument may have some merit. Regards
