GA - MIDLP,

Unclear....if they are definitely converted to 35 shares
of MIDL in Oct.1998, why would they drop 2 points
as depicted by Yahoo Quotes? I would think they would track
the common pretty closely...Thanks

Mark in MD

GaBard, great logic on the day trade scenario. Especially the tax point. Short term capital gains at .28% plus commissions means one would lose close to 29 or 30 % just in commissions and taxes. So in the end what appeared to be a nice profit may not be after all.

Me, I like the long term holds that can grow. But, for most investors this is not acceptable. If they don't see a double in just a few days or weeks at best they panic and sell off.

In the real world companies do not establish "real" solid growth this fast. Yes, there are some that may "appear" to due to the hype and constant flood of worthless "news" releases, but they most often end up on the trash heap of "lessons well learned."

I will take slow and steady every time... LOL
