Roger,

I tried to short KTEL today, but my brokerage does not have any stock available. I am new to shorting (I was going to take a very small short position). Do you recommend any brokerage that will always have shares available.

Thank you,

Al C.

Here's an interesting short idea...J.C. Penney (JCP)

How about a stock that doesn't move + or - 10 points every five minutes?

J.C. Penney is trading near its all-time high, even though NET income has been steadily eroding over the past three years (the company plays the "one-time-restructuring charge" game - one-time charges which mysteriously seem to appear every single quarter).

The company has recently acquired Eckerd drugs, but seems to be having trouble digesting it. Same store sales growth has been pathetic, and we are headed into a slow summer for the big retailers.

The company has just paid its dividend on May 1, the stock has been recently downgraded, and it looks like money flow is decidedly negative.

I think it is headed for the mid 60s pretty soon.

Come to think of it...a good case could probably be made to short ALL the big retailers now.
