Has anyone noticed that BKS now has an "Affiliates" program to match AMZN's "Associates" program?! (I.e., you provide a link on your website to AMZN or BKS and get paid for certain sales that occur through that link.)

I can't tell which is the better deal (it is late). AMZN pays up to 15%, while BKS only pays up to 7%, but it appears that BKS may include an entire shopping visit in the total, while AMZN may not. AMZN's terms and conditions on this point are not the most lucid.

Does anyone have experience as an AMZN "Associate" and whether that program worked as promoted?

Speaking of which, if 1,000 persons who live in N.Y. elect to become resellers of AMZN's products through 1,000 separate brick and mortar based web facilities, does AMZN now effectively have 1,000 brick and mortar sites in New York for sales tax purposes? That would be an interesting dilemma, in light of our earlier discussion of sales taxes and the required nexus with a state.

Aren't people silly to think that a small, local book
retailer like BKS can compete against such a big, (global)
powerhouse like AMZN?
