Seems like a lot of tension regarding control and politics in general. I agree that without heavy gold backing, the Euro will be unsuccessful. Some people have estimated 5-15%, but I think it will be over 30% backing. Anything in the lower range, would make the Euro currency more volatile because the ups and downs of the individual economies in the EU would have a much larger effect. I don't think the Euro Bank would take that kind of risk. Gold brings stability to the mix of the countries involved in the EU, in my opinion.

Paul:

Great post. He implies but does not say that the deal is forerunner of weaker Eurpopean currency, i.e. inflation, Japan has apparantly decided to devalue yen and in USA we have equity inflation.

It's getting interesting. The powder keg is in the hold. What sets it off???

Live long and prosper,

Little joe

1 pt. readers must remember RE Lord-Rees Moog's utterances: he ALWAYS talks his position, ALWAYS. Furthermore, reading this particular piece you've proferred in your post is more a scathing indictment of L-RM himself, FWISA!

Frankly, his ethnicity roots/biases as blatantly revealed in the quoted URL you furnished, well, Paul, this is an outstanding example of creatorial logic; the old need to die for the young to flourish.

If all fatalists were in charge of all financial & political systems, we'd still be lighting our caves w/torches
and dragging around long tressed women.
Sinks would never have been invented to chain said gender reps to
in order to impregnate them!!! Selah

SHEEEEEESH! What a piece of journalistic CRAP!
