Melissa, I want to make something very clear. For many years before getting into the finance world, I was in the technology world, first as a "techie" but ended up focusing largely in sales. (I ran the company and sales effort ended up being more important than tech effort.) I am a technology industry person first, finance type second. I don't always agree with your sales views of the world, but it's not because I come from a "spreadsheet" perspective.

>>We were talking about selling SFA to the VP of Sales.

I was talking about application software in general. Obviously VNTV knows to sell SFA software to the VP of sales or else there wouldn't have been a restructuring of their sales force to non IT people. You asked why anyone selling application software would go anywhere but the VP of Sales. I understand now you were implying SFA software not application software in general. My point was VNTV was making a technical sale to technical people and this was obviously the right thing to do before they developed their SFA and Field Service modules.

>>I'm not even sure what Fidelity bought.

They bought call center 'telesales' software. It wasn't nearly as sexy a sale as Schwab for 10,000 users but they sure wanted to win it and didn't.

>>And these are the people who can turn your 500K deal into a 5M deal which sebl has obviously figured out. IT isn't going to do it for you.

I think everybody knows this except for SEBL's old pathetic competitors.
