Greetings Puddinhead, The word " signify " ( semaino - greek ) means to express an idea or message using signs and symbols. This last book of the Bible is shown to John in signs and symbols, which point to something far greater. To interpret this book literally again violates the Word of God. Take for example Rev. 20:1 " bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand....... To interpret this literally as you contend, first there is no such thing as a bottomless pit, a pit has a bottom. Secondly, how can a chain bind a spirit being ?. It cannot. That is not what the Holy Spirit would have us know. There are countless others I could list to show you that this last book of the bible must be understood as using the signs and symbols , which in turn point to a far greater message for all believers. Please prayerfully consider what I have stated, and may the Lord Grant you you see things you have never seen before in His Holy Word. Robert
