ERICSSON GSM 900 NETWORK LAUNCHED INTO OPERATION FOR VISTA
CELLULAR IN BOTSWANA

The network operator Vista Cellular in Botswana will launch
commercial operation at the end of this month of a GSM 900 system
delivered by Ericsson.

The total value of the contract with Vista Cellular is approximately
USD 7 million (SEK 54 million) million and includes complete GSM 900
infrastructure, transmission equipment and value added services
equipment. During 1998, the network will cover the main cities as
well as certain tourist sites.

Ericsson has now delivered GSM networks to South Africa, Botswana,
Zimbabwe, Marocco, Madagascar, Libya and Ghana offering GSM
subscribers worldwide international roaming possiblities to and from
the African continent.

GSM is the world's most widely deployed digital wireless
communications standard. Ericsson is the market leader in GSM
worldwide, with almost half the world's 80 million GSM subscribers
connected by Ericsson systems. More than 110 network operators in
some 60 countries around the world rely on Ericsson's GSM systems.

Ericsson's 100,000 employees are active in more than 130 countries.
Their combined expertise in fixed and mobile networks, mobile phones

ERICSSON GSM 900 NETWORK LAUNCHED INTO OPERATION FOR MASCOM
WIRELESS IN BOTSWANA

The first phase of a turnkey GSM 900 system delivered by Ericsson
for the network operator Mascom Wireless has been launched into
operation in Botswana. This first phase was built in record time in
order to provide mobile telephone service to the Botswana
administration during a recent state visit.

The total value of the contract with Mascom Wireless is
approximately USD 10 million (SEK 77 million) and includes complete
GSM 900 infrastructure and value added services equipment such as
voice mail and SMS. When the network is completed in 1998, it will
primarily cover densely populated areas as well as certain tourist
locations.
