Katherine,

How about SVGL, UTEK and ISI merge then take over AMAT to combat the Japanese invasion? Ok, maybe it's going too far to suggest that ISI would be included in the resulting company. :^)

I guess we're just going to have to wait until Wednesday or maybe Tuesday. There's sure to be some knowledgeable anonymous insider out there.

Ian.

P.S. Just kidding with my first statement.

Katherine,

No other guesses here, but the suspense will keep me up tonight because I have a substantial position in UTEK. Thanks for the post.

Regards,

Demosthenes

Katherine, is this upcoming UTEK press conference open to the public or only to you journalists?

Katherine:

WAG guesses and dreams:

- Through acquisition of ISI, UTEK announces partnership with Lucent for the development and production of SCALPEL. Lucent has been increasing staff assigned to the project recently and has been actively searching for a "major lithography manufacturer" to help. Maybe Lucent wanted to stick with a US based company like UTEK as opposed to going with Nikon, Canon or ASMLF. ISI built a prototype and Lucent contracted with ISI recently to build a second system and will take orders for SCALPEL units at $8.0m a pop.

-- UTEK acquires ISI and purchases SVGI technology rights or partners with SVGI to form a new company for the development of EUV to serve the Intel formed EUV LLC and to fend off Hitachi and Nikon and the impending Japanese EUV consortium.

OOPS!

Apparently the New Litho Company press release was *not* regarding UTEK after all. Sending it out in UTEK's name was apparently an error by Business Wire. UTEK's PR firm is denying that there's any association with UTEK at all.

Sorry to cause any sleepless nights, folks.

Katherine

My guess is that the briefing is likely to be on one of a very short list of topics:

--UTEK buys ISI
--UTEK gets money to develop EUV
--both

Any other guesses?

A favorite of mine for a while has been a merger of UTEK and SVGL. We'll find out soon enough - thanks for the heads up-
