PK, I don't follow LSS. If I get a chance I'll look at it.

PK:

There is a fellow ("Trapper")on the AOL/Fool Oil and Gas thread who is very knowledgeable re the pipe fabricators. He thinks LSS is by far the best managed of the bunch, i.e., MAVK et al. On the other hand, he is wary because the market is susceptable to cheaper foreign imports.

LSS missed earnings last fall and I got my head handed to me.

What do you think of LSS as a value play?

Depends on how you slice the salami.

If you are interested in comparisons that this compulsive search-runner has turned up, here are some categories in which LSS scored in the "top 25" in the sector:

1) Undervalued (highest company growth ratio=lowest peg ratio)

2) Undervalued (highest company growth ratio, lowest p/e, psr, price/cashflow, price/free cashflow). Note that LSS made it onto the list despite negative free cashflow.

3) Fundamental rank (Telescan category: financial ratios, cashflow growth).

4) Highest long-term value & short-term value (Telescan category: basically, deviation from historical price).

5) Note, however, that LSS did not make it into the top 25 on any of my high-growth searches.

Don't know whether this is of any use to you, but thought I would share it anyway.
