Should DOJ let Window98 be available on time? It depending on
who you ask. For Mac group, we seem not too much care about
it. Does the tension between DOJ and Microsoft have anything
to do with the meeting between Clinton and Jobs? Well, at least one
point I am sure of is Apple's the only alternative pc platform exists.
The best way to reduce Microsoft's monopoly charges is to boost
the visiblity and marketshare of Mac platform. What Mr. Clinton can
do is to encourage Federal Government to use Mac in agencies such
as DoD, NASA, DOT, etc. to take advantage of Mac's hardware
speed as well as pricing on performance/price ratio, and help
balance between Window and Mac OS. In such way, Microsoft
will reduce its monopoly suspect although it seems Microsoft is
really dominating pc's OS. The marketshare will be gradually shifted
to Mac if Federal Government really buys more Mac from now on.
