Yes, that is true. However, most of them follow more than one company and they rarely know the business as well as the people that run the business and they (generally) don't have material inside information - therefore they rely a lot on guidance from management.

However, they act more like auditors. They are there in case management is not truthful, inept, and / or they are there to explain to their customers the "story" as they understand it and how that "story" is playing out.

It is a shame when analysts try to get ahead of the "story" and have as their main objective to "move" the stock.

When CB intimates that he is comfortable with $3.18 - do you really think that is a target? I think you as an investor have to take it from there.
