When Armstrong said he'd use DMS switches in their local network buildout rather than distracting Lucent and forcing them to spend $1B developing appropriate software, Nortel rose about $6 / share the next day from 60 to about 66-67.

When T does something, it's always big. ... both the direct effect and the defacto standard effect.
