Yikes, on the other hand, the internet is simple enough for most any dummy. imo the trick is access to the info/entertainment/whatever people will want off the web. The complication to this is that what interests different people will tend to fall into niches that a catchall won't necessarily cover, which throws a wrench into the portal concept as one that will attract people for extended periods of time. Anyways, this is all a ridiculous argument because the stock is in the stratosphere by any valuation standard and will come down at a random point in time. etc.
AOL's competitors will come on strong when the web is more mature. There's too much risk to a massive investment right now.
