One tidbit from the article:

The volume ramp-up of 300-mm fab lines will occur between 2002 and 2004, Dataquest predicted. In 2002, spending for 300-mm systems will account for about 35% of the projected $42.8 billion semiconductor equipment market, Rinnen said.
