I dont even have to read these. As a network consultant I have gone through these numbers several times with actual clients. I have seen the true platform conversion costs, complexities, problems, etc.

A wise IT person DOES NOT SWITCH PLATFORMS unless there is some serious business or technical reasons to do so! Any person switching from a NOS/file/print NetWare platform to NT is just plain STUPID!! There is no other way to call them. The NetWare platform is still the most widely used NOS platform in the industry, it is the most mature NOS technology available (specialy when compared with NT - its not even a contest), and it has wide 3rd party vendor support.

There is definately a purpose for NT servers as Application servers, but this servers can be integrated into NEtWare/NDS very cleanly.

There is just one of two words to describe these types of IT people that wholesale switch from NetWare to NT - STUPID or BIASED! Either way they are only hurting their own IT operation and business.
