Jobs has a plan. WWCD is for software. MacWorld is for hardware/business plans. So why is there an announcement today?

It must be things that belong at MacWorld but CANNOT WAIT until then for external reasons, and he doesn't want to muddy the waters at WWDC.

Therefore I see a MAJOR initiative (hopefully with key partners like Casio, Sharp, IBM, Netscape, Macromedia, Disney, Intel, Msft) for the Newton replacement, AMP, sub-$1000 mac. Or it could be about Quicktime. Orange Micro has to fit in somewhere as well.

It will not be CEO as there is no rush, and I don't think that Jobs would want to characterize that announcement as a "whoa".

Very excited ... aren't we all!
