Challo, Of course you are right that it is market perception that causes a correction, and if the market perception is that oil prices will decline further and earnings will suffer, drilling and service companies could certainly drop again. But there is also the side of market perception that views this sector as undervalued companies on the move. That creates a situation with more people looking to buy so that corrections are short and rebounds dramatic. We seem to have shifted into the more positive market perception and a generally upward bias in the stock prices.
If that is the case, and we are less likely to have big selloffs, we may see an even more bullish attitude emerge as new investors come in with great confidence and fresh funds.
