Good point.

Non point.

By the time folks can get reliable 56K connections across the board, Apple will have a machine out that can take advantage of cable modems, etc.

And with standard Ethernet, this thing's a killer for .edu.

I agree, that a floppy is a seldom used device. But I still think it is critical. How many other desktop computers ship without floppy? None that I know of. Why is this so? What about transferring files between home and work/school. Do you think most consumers have the savy to save them to the net? A file that takes 10 seconds to save/load by floppy will take 10 minutes to get from the net.
