Let's not forget some of other big news: the Apple Store for education AND the Apple store for Europe are open! That's very exciting for revenues!

Re: "I think this will be very big for Apple. The education market implications are enormous."

I agree whole heartedly! One again, here are the specs:

The iMac makes using the internet as easy as using a Macintosh, and that's good.
What's even better is that the iMac comes fully loaded with everything you need to
get online. Which in turn means that -- perhaps best of all -- you can be up and
running for as little as $1,299.

-233MHz PowerPC G3 processor
-512K backside level 2 cache
-32MB, expandable to 128MB SDRAM
-4GB IDE hard disk drive
-24x (max) speed CD-ROM drive
-Built-in 15-inch monitor (13.8-inch viewable)
-2MB, exandable to 4MB SGRAM
-Built-in 10/100BASE-T Ethernet
-Built-in 33Kbps modem
-Two 12Mbps Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports
-4Mbps infrared technology (IrDA) port
-Built-in stereo speakers with SRS sound
-Mac OS 8.1
-Apple USB Keyboard
-Apple USB Mouse

It is an evolutionary presentation of the original Mac concept. It is still revolutionary in light of the rest of the offerings in the market.

REMEMBER! $1299 is the MSRP. Wait until they show up in the distribution channel. These puppies will be stamped out on Apple's most automated assembly lines in countries with cheap labor and cheap parts. Margins will be thinner, but not the razor thin 10% mentioned before.

And what about that 4Mbps infrared technology (IrDA) port? I see living room games potential here. And what other devices might utilize the ports functionality? Portable data gathering devices? PDAs? Personal laptops? Home appliances?

It is a one size fits all, full functioned, plug-n-play home computer that sez, "Hi! The Jetsons age is here now. Buy me and impress your neighbors!" One might call it... The MacToaster?
