Can't blame you for being perturbed over this, but could you clarify something?

What is this SELL ALL you are referring to? I went back to my account and made a mock sell order thinking that maybe this feature was always there and I overlooked it. I still don't have this. All I have is a "all or none" sell feature which I'm sure you weren't referring to or were you?

Just curious.

Hardline,

There is no SELL ALL on my E-Trade order screen, what screen are you referring to?

Everybody, including you, knows it is not possible to cancel a market order, so I'm not sure what your complaint is with E-Trade. You put in a market order, and it was executed quickly. You got the market price at the time. If you wanted a certain price, you should use limit orders.

I don't use E-Trade much, but I have never had a problem accessing them for trades, so I can't comment on your other problems, other than to say they are not universal.

Dennis

I find your story hard to believe. There is no "sell all" feature that you mention on the E*TRADE site. I also find it hard to believe that an E*TRADE rep would tell you you could cancel a market order. I find it harder to believe that you would believe someone who told you that. My market orders go through in about 30 seconds with E*TRADE. I have been using them for 4 accounts and have never had a problem over the last 2 years. I really hope you're not making this up.

Good for you on leaving E*Trade. Many of us over the years have done the same. My question is, if they cannot even provide a decent core product(stock trading over the internet, with which they had a huge lead on most other internet brokerages and blew it), what are they doing going into all this other E*Loan & other business crap? They are just going to blow it in other areas also. Short EGRP & holding down to 15 or so, for these reasons & others.

True story (for many E*TRADE customers I assume):

Once, I wanted to sell some stock at $9, but E*TRADE was down, so I had to wait, and when I was finally able to sell, the bid was $10. Another time, I wanted to buy some stock at $10, but E*TRADE was down, so I had to wait, and when I was finally able to buy, the ask was $9. This is just too much. I can't take it any more. I am leaving. :-)
