I am beginning to look into PLFM and before I trudge through the acronyms associated with communications technology, I'd like to add some thoughts about using airborne wireless from my perspective. Maybe these have already been covered. Snob aspect. I understand that the communications usage is directed to areas such as South America, but in my locality opposition to cell phone towers has developed. Some vocal people don't want to look at the towers. My area isn't mountainous but covered by tall forest. Reception would be better from above. Lightning - Florida is the lightning capital of the USA. Electronic equipment attached to towers has a low mean time to failure due to getting frapped and fried repeatedly and service would be more reliable with equipment out of harm's way. Charles
