<<Do I detect a little IBM bias here? >> Alittle. As for OS/2, you are right...not any more there aren't. At the time NT 3.5.1 -> NT 4 I believe OS/2 had a 12-1 advantage over NT. The big users of either were IBM shops, so there is no magic to that kind of advantage. And, to be sure the lead was constantly dropping. I've since forgotten which version of windows it was but Gates would not allow it to leave development until Lotus 123 failed to work correctly on it. Thats how they win. I don't use Navigator but have heard from several users of it it blows IE out of the water for speed and up time. I can not imagine anyone going the Netscape route, not that uSoft is better, it's just the only viable game in town. Same true for compilers, IBM's VisualAge C++ is brilliant compared to VC++, You build whole applications by dragging and dropping and connecting the dots. Model View Controller is a slick model. And, it's multiplatform. One source fits all. But...if you want a job doing NT/Winx development you better know VC++ well. It's just the realities. I think it would be nice if the better product won.
